Three Easy Ways to Anti-Age Your Hands
Want to know how old someone is? Look at their hands and their neck. Or, at least, that’s how the old saying goes. Your hands are one of the most at-risk areas for early signs of aging. That’s because the skin on your hands is thin, constantly exposed to the sun, and often dry thanks to frequent washing. Luckily, there are three simple steps you can take to keep your hands looking as fresh and spot-free as your face.
Apply a Hand Cream with SPF (and reapply)
Hands are prone to dryness thanks to the thinness of the skin, a lack of oil glands in the area, and constant hand washing. Washing your hands frequently is the right choice for your overall health, but be sure to regularly apply a hand cream to restore all the moisture that the soap strips away. Look for a hand cream with SPF to protect against UV rays--one of the major causes of premature skin aging on the hands. SPF should be reapplied every two hours, or after every wash. If you choose to do just one thing for your hands, make SPF that choice.
