Kerry’s 10 Skincare Rules

Gorgeous, healthy-looking skin is easier to achieve than you think! Once you find the skincare routine that’s right for you, you’ll start seeing results right away- and the extra work you put in will be worth it. I’m sharing with you my 10 Skincare rules; follow these and you’ll be on your way to radiant, glowing skin.

Monthly Professional Exfoliation

I do a medium depth multi-acid peel on myself monthly (stacked with other treatments as well).  As we age, our cell renewal decreases by ½. If you want to have fresh, healthy, vibrant-looking skin, then you need to force the skin cells to turn over more frequently in order to reveal that healthy glow. What people don't understand is that medium depth peels are super safe, gentle, highly effective with little to no downtime.  I always say that “Sex In The City” gave peels a bad name! The visible peeling is just a side effect; dead skin coming off. However, the peeling is happening at the cellular level. With medium depth multi-acid peels, you get all the benefits without the visible peeling side effects.

Microneedle 3-5 times a week

I make sure to microneedle using my StackedSkincare® products 3-5 times a week with a .2mm roller. Microneedling is one of the best anti-aging treatments; plus, the more you do it, the better the results. Microneedling has 2 main benefits: it stimulates epidermal growth factors to boost collagen and elastin that plump and firm skin and; it increases absorption of active ingredients by more than 80%, making this procedure one of the most powerful and effective ways to stop early signs of aging and prevent fine lines and wrinkles from occurring.

Wear SPF 30 or higher

I always wear a broadband SPF of 30 or 50, and layer it with an antioxidant for added protection.  Even on cloudy days, UV rays can cause a lot of damage.  If you’re out in the sun all day, reapply SPF every 2-3 hours for maximum protection- and don’t forget to wear a hat!

Don’t Pick!

I know it can be tempting, but never pick your skin. Picking can cause hyper pigmentation and scarring- it’s just not worth it! Instead, cleanse, apply the correct active ingredients, and leave that spot alone so it can heal!  Picking only creates a bigger problem and will ultimately take much longer to clear up.

 Oils are your friends

I always keep coconut or avocado oil in my shower. I apply while my skin is still wet to seal in the moisture, and then I apply a moisturizer.  We tend to forget that our face isn’t the only skin we need to take care of- the skin on our body can also show signs of aging. Keeping that skin properly moisturized will prolong the look of healthy skin.

Give your hands some attention

I shave the back of my hands twice a week in the shower and then apply moisturizer and SPF. This is a fantastic quick, easy way to exfoliate your hands, and prevents early signs of aging. For an added anti-aging tip, after shaving, use our Collagen Boosting MicroRoller to stimulate collagen. Always apply moisturizer after this treatment and SPF every day.

Use Retinol

I use retinol every night!  Retinol is key for collagen production and cell turnover.  It's a must in every skincare regimen!

Invest in a sonic cleansing brush

I always cleanse with a Clarisonic brush. People confuse this with an exfoliation device, but it’s not; it’s meant to cleanse your skin. The sonic technology cleanses your skin 6 times better than just with your hands alone!

Reuse products

I always use the same products that I use on my face for my neck, chest, hands and eyes as well. My eye routine includes serum, eye cream, and then my moisturizer.

Don’t forget lips!

I use serum on my lips with a roller several times a week to keep them moisturized, exfoliated, and healthy. In addition, be sure to always apply SPF lip protection when spending time outdoors- burnt lips are no fun!
