New Year, New You: Tips On How To Get Great Skin in 2013

The new year is officially in full swing which means it’s time to kick those resolutions into high gear! If you are like most women, great skin is at the top of your list. With a little help, 2013 can be your year for flawless, radiant skin. Here’s a list of our top tips for beautiful looking skin in the new year:

Exfoliate

On any given day the average woman can have close to 30 layers of dead skin on her face. Make it a point to exfoliate once or twice a week to slough off those pore-clogging, complexion-dulling dead skin cells. I particularly love Hydro-Peptides Anti-Wrinkle Polish & Plump Peel.

Banish Bad Habits

Make it a point to banish the bad habits that contribute to bad skin - these little changes can go a long way:

  • Keep your hands away from your face. Your hands carry more germs and oil than you realize and constantly touching your face clogs your pores and transmits unnecessary bacteria to your skin.
  • Always take off your makeup before going to bed. You have heard it thousands of times but this really is a great way to fight breakouts.
  • Don’t ignore your chest, neck, hands and lips. Treat them as part of your face and make sure to extend product use to those areas.
  • Say no to the “Three S’s” (smoking, sugar and spirits), all of which can wreak havoc on your skin. Cigarettes and alcohol are dehydrating while sugar-laden foods cause insulin spikes which stimulate oil-producing hormones.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of your skin’s best friends. Not only is it essential in the synthesis of collagen but it also helps your skin repair itself. This antioxidant neutralizes free radicals which assists in the prevention of skin damage from daily sun and environmental exposure.

Consult A Professional

Regular appointments with a licensed esthetician/skin care specialist is the best way to fight aging, acne, eczema and other skin problems. A professional can assess and discover the root of your skincare issues and come up with a plan to combat and prevent them in the future.
