DE-PUFF AND HYDRATE BEFORE CONCEALER

Concealer is only as smooth as the skin underneath it. That’s why it’s important to fully hydrate and depuff the under eye area before you apply makeup. The night before a big day depuff with our Ice Roller before bed and again as soon as you wake. Then, apply a hydrating under eye mask like the Star Eye Mask from our friends at KNC Beauty. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes, after removing, pat excess serum around eyes and finish with our Firming Eye Complex. Containing powerful actives like Chrysin that are extracted from the blue passion flower to help counteract darkness and puffiness. And, an advanced peptide complex combining palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, two age-fighting ingredients known for their anti-wrinkle and firming benefits.

GET SMOOTHER FOUNDATION BY DERMAPLANING

You might not notice dead skin cells when your face is bare, but as soon as you apply a complexion product of any kind, those dry spots are going to be super obvious. Foundation also clings to the peach fuzz on your face, which can make it look patchy. To solve both problems in one step, try dermaplaning. Our Dermaplaning Tool makes it easy to shave away dead skin cells and fine hair. It’s a favorite of makeup artists like Wayne Goss who says, “Makeup just goes on like you will not believe. It’s like a new skin.” You can check out his full review of our Dermaplaning Tool on his Youtube channel.

Another talent MUA, our friend Joyce Planton swears by the Dermaplaning Tool.

“I love using StackedSkincare's dermaplaning tool on my clients and models as it gives them baby skin instantly with no downtime. They love that luminous look. Makeup application and absorption is much smoother which makes my job faster and easier.”

PREVENT YOUR MAKEUP FROM SETTLING WITH HYALURONIC ACID

When your skin is dehydrated, fine lines and wrinkles are more pronounced. That’s why you might notice your makeup settling into the little lines on your face. The best way to prevent this from happening is to create a very hydrated, supple base before you apply your makeup. Unfortunately, oil-based products can often cause liquid foundations and concealers to separate, which means you need to use a product that will hydrate effectively, but won’t leave greasy residue on the surface of your skin. Hyaluronic acid, a water-soluble hydrator, is the ingredient for the job. It attracts water into the surface layers of the skin, visibly plumping up the little lines where makeup settles. Celeb makeup artist Erika La Pearl uses our HA Hydrating Serum—a lightweight serum packed with hyaluronic acid—as a moisturizing primer on clients like Cardi B and Sofia Richie.

DITCH THE SUGAR SCRUB & PEEL YOUR LIPS BEFORE LIPSTICK

Back in the day, the only anti-chapping measures in a makeup artist’s arsenal were sugar scrubs and a dry toothbrush—not the best tools for removing dry skin on sensitive lips. Luckily, there are more options now. Erika La Pearl also swears by our Hydrating Lip Peel as a primer before lipstick application, “Simply apply the peel and follow immediately with your favorite lip color. Then, immediately swipe on a thin coat of your favorite lip balm and let the peel work its magic.” You can use the lip peel 5-7 times per week to keep your pout soft and smooth.
